how do you guys deal with the sedation of ziprasidone?it has to be split into 2 dose from what i see

I take 80 mg twice daily, and to be honest, i don’t get any sedation from the Ziprasidone. I also take Clozapine and that is what sedates me.
how can you tell when you are on 2 antipsychotics?
If you are the quite calm type then Geodon is good but if you are chattering active type then Geodon is a poor choice because it will make you manic and cause terrible insomnia and I promise you that I speak from experience I’ve had big problems to sleep the last 15 years on Geodon. So I decided to come of Geodon 3 weeks ago cold turkey. During that period I had problems urinating and constipation.
Many times I will take my evening dose at 8:30pm to go to bed at 10pm. Otherwise, if I take my evening dose earlier I might fall asleep earlier. I don’t usually like going to sleep before 10pm.
Sorry, i should have been more specific. I started off taking Ziprasidone on its own, and i took it all the way up to 80 mg twice daily. It never made me sleepy, and on its own it just didn’t cut the mustard. So i was put on Clozapine as well.
Does it make you sleepy? Is it possible to take 10 mg in the morning and 30 at night?
The evening dose makes me sleepy. I think Ziprasidone only comes in 20mg increments.
I take 80mg per day. I was taking 20mg in the morning and 60mg in the evening. Today I’m trying 40mg in the morning and 40mg at night. My pdoc said I can change to 40mg in the morning and 40mg at night. I’m hoping the 40mg evening dose is less sedating than the 60mg evening dose.
It makes me sleep only 7 hours
Does not make me sleepy
Feel alerted most of the time
Does give me anxiety and a bit of inability to sit still
The sleepiness wears off with time. When I first started taking it I worked. And the morning dose made me have to take a nap at work. So I quit taking it and took both doses at night. Did that for several years and got psychotic every afternoon.
It was not a brilliant plan and cost my sanity for a long time.
Now it doesn’t make me tired at all.
It didn’t make me tired at all. My dr had me on 240 mg/day. It simply did nothing. I switched meds. I was on it for a year
The max dose is 160 mg
I was still prescribed 240 @Wayne. Sometimes pdocs do that
I’ve heard of people being prescribed over 200mg of Ziprasidone.
