I know it is a little trivial to most, but I like to look out of my window at the greenery. My neighbours had a beautiful tree that was filled with pink and white bloom in the Spring. It was a lovely sight and I always thought it looked terrific especially in the Spring.
I watched, mouth agape as the neighbour butchered it before my eyes, cutting away branches on his step ladder. Bit by but it was stripped of all leaves and branches, until I turned away.
Half an hour later I returned to the window only to see a hacked stump and piles of branches filling the garden saddened to see it was not just a cut back but its total destruction.
I know it is only a tree, but I feel sad that this beauty is now gone to be replaced with piles of wood and dogs that bark all day that ruin my meditation.
I have some trees I was planning on cutting down but started to like them and have decided to keep them for now. they are mostly dead but have some green on top. their evergreens of some kind. they look pretty gnarly and give me a little privacy in my yard. was thinking I would replace them with a big mulched landscape but decided I don’t want all the extra work and expense of that. so they’re here to stay for now at least.
I love trees. Forests are farms now- beginning to be. Not a tree hugger in favor of jobs, but I have hugged a few. I remember this big ol red fir, gigantic, only one I know. Burned a couple years ago in valley fire.
Hey, I can relate to your whole post. Because I like looking out my window and seeing all the greenery too. I would miss a tree too if I liked it and it was cut down.
