Took 1 gram with water an hour ago. Definitely is activating. Very similar to glycine. Can’t compare to sarcosine because I got no response to that. Is definitely not just a placebo effect.
Will see how long it lasts for. I think in the studies 500mg was taken twice a day. Have to establish if this means 12 hours apart or less. Will figure this out of the next few days.
In short, in my experience, similar effect to glycine at a fraction of the cost (£6 for a year).
NaBen® (Sodium Benzoate) is a white oral tablet (sodium benzoate, 500 mg), which will be taken twice daily at a total dose of 1000 mg/day during this study.
Interesting, maybe in clinical trials they are mistaking this activation for improvement in negative and cognitive symptoms. Hopefully not. Maybe because the drug reverses the hypoactivation of NMDA receptor for some reason that causes excitement or alertness. Maybe this will be listed as a side effect in the future.
Maybe I am getting excited because of the elleviation of negative symptoms. It is certainly not an unpleasant sensation. It is good in fact. Motivation is up.
If this is your first dose chances are you might feel a more long term effect after it builds up in your system in a few days. But it has a short half-life of 4-6 hours so chances are it will build up quickly, maybe in under a week. Its good you are experiencing an acute effect, many of us could do with more motivation for a few hours a day. Those struggling could strategically take it before work, social interactions or school.
Hi @Jimbob
Where did you purchase it? Are you taking capsules? I looked it up on amazon and they only sell raw powder, how do you titrate it to be sure you take exactly one gram?
Good, it will be great help to see your experience. Many of us are interested in ordering up some of this and trying ourselves. Hopefully your response will be significant, best case scenario it will be dramatic.
