I take Metformin 2x500mg. My blood sugar is normal. Try to eat fiber with food or Metamucil Fiber, it stabilizes blood sugar, prevents it from going too high. If its too high you might need meds.

Are you on just Metformin?
There are more potent meds out there.
Metformin is rather a mild diabetes med.
My blood sugar levels rarely climb into the 200 mark.

As long as you take your meds and watch your diet, you’ll be fine.
Exercise like moderate walking helps too.

I agree with this, If your sugars are in the 400 range you really should be taking insulin…
At my hospital we only use metformin and glipizide as add ons to insulin. Your blood sugar should be relatively under control and not run high if you are on just metformin or glipizide.
You need to take diabetes seriously. I have seen many cases of people with amputated limbs (mostly feet) due to uncontrolled diabetes. You can go blind too.
