Toeing the line

I have to share a room where I live. It’s OK, I did it for many years early in my disease.

The guy is 27 and he became homeless when he was about 18 and lived on the streets for 8 months. Amazingly, the guy is a genuinely nice guy. It surprises me because I think that he would be mean or bitter after going through what he went through. But he’s polite and has a good sense of humor and his girlfriend is pretty and nice.

He irritates me but he’s easy to get along with. Yeah, I have to work on being a better housemate because I could do a lot worse then him for a housemate and I don’t want to share a room with someone else who would be a jerk. So I have to try to get along with him or I might get a much worse roommate.

So it’s sort of a “better the devil you know” type situation?

He’s actually not hard to share a room with. We kind of get in stupid conversations and laugh a lot pretty often. But yes, you’re partially right, Minnii.
