I just keep plugging away at trying to read more and more each sitting…fifty books seems a bit ambitious…I can finish a 250 page book in about a week and a half…

Have you tried audiobooks?

You can usually get them from a library, and what you do is listen to the book being read to you.

It’s a great way to polish off a lot of books in a short time span.

True. But a lot of popular authors like Stephen King have audiobook versions of their books.

For myself I read a lot of easy stuff, like graphic novels. Graphic novels are pretty much the same thing as comic books, but longer.

My number one tip is to read what interests you rather than reading difficult and long books just to be able to say that you read them. For me, I can devour religious books like no problem. If I read things like Lolita, Finnegan’s Wake, and books like those I get discouraged very quickly.

Yeah, I second what Skunky says. Find books and themes that really ignite your passion.

I cant even read one book a year let alone 50, 50 is like one a week but i guess if they are short reads its ok,

What i am hoping to do at my clubhouse is to start a book group and maybe get a short book, we could start off by reading a few pages (would be excellent if the chapters were very short, start off small anyway and then discuss what people thought about it,

Idk what books would be appropriate but i was reading a book just before Christmas and it was 1 or 2 pages at a time and just those short 1 or 2 pages was a lot to take in and very descriptive and it set a really good picture in my mind, i thought a book like that would be perfect and would keep a group captivated, and the rest of the group would encourage me to keep reading.

Just reading 50 books a year is not getting you somewhere. They hype it on YouTube nowadays. Best thing is start with short books, around 200 to 300 pages, and stick to them for a while. If you just read one short book every two weeks then you would already have like 25 a year with not a lot of hassle.

Don’t stress about the amount. If you can not speak or remember things about your books you’ve read then it’s just a flat experience. Enjoy them rather than just getting you irritated because you’ve read too much.

I use audible to read now when im laying in bed. Well i havent in awhile, but i wanted to finish World War Z soon. I do have some paper books i read but not alot. The main thing to do is to find the books that interest you enough to go on reading binges. My last book kept my attention span for hours because i wanted to finish it.
