I still remember when I was 12-13 y.o. and read 2-3 books a week.
Now it’s more like… 1 book every two weeks. But I need to read more, though I need to know more about books in my work. I even opened an bookstagram for that, and it seems I am really not enough motivated to read.
The best advice for fighting laziness connected with reading?!
For my studies, I take breaks. I’m learning programming, maths and physics altogether in tiny breaks between sessions. Don’t be hard on yourself when you can’t focus, listen to your intuition and study/read only when you know you are awake/focused.
For me it’s working so far. I have downtime often, but I’m managing to progress – it’s all about doing it in YOUR time and not rushing it.
@MisterApple deeply in my heart I know you’re right. I shouldn’t push myself.
Just… I feel jealous for my colleagues who read way more. They’re total bookworms. And me, personally, I am probably a decent reader. I like reading, but not doing it too often.
Sometimes it feels this job doesn’t suit me well, as I am not a bookworm.
Nah, don’t let that get you down. We are all different and have different personalities.
There’s a saying, “comparison is the thief of joy” which basically means, you shouldn’t compare yourself to others or anyone because it will rob/steal your happiness
I wish I read more, I read a few pages a week but its big pages science book molecular biology 1700 pages, I read 200 pages. I am also reading a novel Three Cups of Tea read one chapter
I set goals and keep a schedule and I track progress in my recovery journal. That’s how I push myself to do things I am struggling with. Have you tried a similar approach?
