Lots of my Chinese Sz friends have thyroid problems. So do I. I felt very tired recently and went see the doctor yesterday. I had a blood test this morning. Now the results came out which tells me I have Hypothyroidism. This illness can explain why I have been so tired.
Hypothyroidism is easily treated with thyroid hormone replacement. I’ve had hypothyroidism since I was a teenager.
I’ve had this in the last few years.
I’ve had treatment with levothyroxine
Not really noticed any symptoms that can’t be put down to virtually anything else…
Are you in uk
No, I’m in China. I just received the results of blood test this noon.
I don’t know the system in China.
In UK there are free prescriptions for people with thyroid problems
Here in China we have a semi-free health care system. The government pay about 60% of the health bill. It’s better than nothing.
Thyroid problems appear just like negative symptoms. Its easy to correct with levothyroxine pill. Need a TSH value close to 1.0 to feel better. Also its found most hypothyroid people have sub optimal values of vitamin d and b12 so get that checked too as without correcting these thyroid issues won’t resolve by levothyroxine alone.
it seems many people having schizophrenia also suffering from thryoid problems, is it a coincidence?
Probably yes and most docs and pdocs not check thyroid, vitamin d, b12 etc as in their eyes its all symptoms of mental disease.
