In the uk people with schizophrenia have their thyroid checked, so I’m fine.

Thanks for posting.

My thyroid started acting up when they diagnosed me with sz, and i have been on synthroid ever since.
And on and off APs.

A friend of mine had vivid hallucinations until they discovered she suffers from Hashimotos, a thryoid disease.

Are you hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism

I may have hypothyroidism.
Last time my thyroid levels were a bit out of whack.

I had times I wonder if my thyroid is causing my sz,but it turns out my thyroid is fine

I have hypothyroidism. (low thyroid)
When i have a lot of stress, i cant’t sleep, i lose weight, can’t stop talking and get delusional.
And I have really bad muscle spasms, racing heart, and bad anxiety.
My drs. act like they don’t know what’s going on or they’re afraid to tell me.

Did she get better with treatment?

So they haven’t put you on thyroid medication?

Yeah, Synthroid is thyroid medicine.
They put me on synthroid at Duke in 1994 after i went through xanax withdrawals (cold turkey)
my local pdoc didn’t try to taper me off, they just gave me strong haldol injections and said the withdrawals (triggered) my sz

A friend of mine went through this. They thought she had a mental illness. Turned out to be thyroid. She is fine now. I have severe hypothyroid, but also schizophrenia.

She did, and the hallucinations stopped piling on.
