Throwing Over the System

I have taken to skipping my evening meds in order to wake with a clear mind for meditation. I consider the meditation more important than the medication. That is not to say that I am not taking the meds. I DO take them in the morning. I am going to see my nurse practitioner about this next week.

Do what you think is best, but be careful.

So you’ve just changed the time of day you take your meds?

After seeing my nurse practitioner, I am now taking 10mg of Saphris instead of 5mg, 100mg of Latuda instead of 120mg. I am taking this meditation in the morning at 7:00. I am now taking the Trileptal at 12:00pm and 7:00pm. The Latuda and the Saphris are heavy in the morning, insufficient in the afternoon. The Trileptal is good. I can use it to be mindful of my breath, as it affects the brain stem, the seat of the breath. I see the nurse practitioner again in two weeks. Time will tell what these changes will bring…

I’ve had to drop the 20 mg Latuda from my drug regimen as the Latuda and the Saphris, along with the HBP medicine were causing me to almost lose consciousness. Will see my nurse practitioner in a little while.

You’re going through a bit of turbulence. Hope all is OK.

I am knocked out from 8:00 to 11:00. I don’t like it. I will talk to the nurse practitioner about it.

Good luck with everything Martin. I wish you the best

Best wishes for getting this resolved. Hope you are able to get the function you want/need back, sir.

I’ve done it again. I stopped taking the Saphris in the morning because it knocked me out for a few hours (from 8-11) and I couldn’t get to my meditation Sangha. I have reverted to taking the Latuda in the morning and relying on the Trileptal to get me through the rest of the day. Anyone? Self medicating…I see the nurse practitioner on the 18th…Now I’ve thrown over my meditation for an early breakfast.

Have you stopped taking saphris completely? If so that’s not wise and is going against what the doctor prescribed. Maybe your body would have ended up adjusting to the saphris.
