Thoughts About Pet Adoption

I am planning to adopt a dog, as I feel like I need a companion at home. I used to have a Border Collie before, but he died a few years ago. Several years have past and I am now ready to get a new buddy. Moving on, I am planning to visit an animal shelter by the end of the month. Which breed would you guys recommend, and also what are the stuff that I should start preparing before getting a new dog?

I applaud you for going to a rescue shelter. I’d recommend going and just seeing which dog you get feelings for. Let the dog decide!

I’m a cat person. They won’t let me have anymore cats but I’d adopt another if I could. I think you are doing a great thing and animals are great companions as you know!

Well done you!

Most animal shelters here in the states have mixed breeds, especially pit bull mixes.

Mixed breeds make great pets!

I have always wanted a husky but such breed has a bad barking and howling behavior which will require me to use a bark collar sooner or later. I guess I will try to look for a well-behaved and friendly breed like German Shepherd or Labrador Retriever.
