Thoughtlessness

Have you experienced this. The mind stops working for no reason no matter what the situation is and where I am and there is no flow of thought. It’s very scary.

This happened to me during my last relapse. It felt to me like my brain was shutting down.

I used to have on and off. Not sure what causes it till now. Need to be vigilant and look out for patterns.

Yeah, sadly that happens to me as well. Sometimes there’s no thoughts while other times the thoughts could be delayed or seem like some are missing.

Poverty of thought is a negative symptom of schizophrenia, one where it plagued me quite a bit early on. It also was particularly devastating during my catatonic days. Its was literally like my being, my existential person, was shut down. I was a hollow shell.

I had poverty of thought when first diagnosed. I changed meds and that helped but it’s always throwing the dice when you change meds.

I daydream a lot, and I can lose focus on what I am doing. Sometimes I wonder if dementia isn’t creeping up on me.
