called and cancelled my cards
found my wallet
unable to buy food with cancelled cards
its a mission to get to the nearest bank
have to wait 5-7 days no food no money
unless i do a mission by bike pedalling 2 hrs one way to the bank

I have had to cancel cards before. THis is where a back up checking account comes in handy.

Its just an account where they give you little paper thingies like this that you can fill out and give to people and they can cash them to take it out of your account :

I have two myself. One where i can take out as much as I want that gets no interest and one that makes more interest but I can only make so many withdrawals.

Oh jeez, I have done that. I keep a separate emergency bank account for this now. It has a few hundred dollars in it.

Good idea… Having some spare cash around the house would be a good idea too. Maybe a piggy bank or safe.

I have two cards, one is an emergency card I leave at home or leave separately in another place on my person when I’m travelling.

When I was a kid I would frequently lose my wallet.
As an adult it hasn’t happened yet.
But yeah. That sounds like a tough situation to be in. Can you pay with your phone?
