This is the number one SZA/SZ site. Why not more people contributing?

Okay, it’s too late…

I read several topics and it’s… sad. I didn’t read a lot, just checked. Most of them are about family member (schizophrenic) feeling unwell at the moment. Gosh… it’s sad.

One thing was quite helpful. Part about drugs and SZ. And scary asf at the same way… there are many ppl who after drugs go into “never ending journey.” If you know what I mean.

It’s a bit scary and very triggering indeed.

I won’t go here again. Let it be two seperate places, our place and place for people who has a family member with SZ.

Not everyone likes discussing schizophrenia i guess. I don’t think its much to do with not being self aware

I guess there’s numerous reasons.

Ppl just aren’t aware of this site.

Ppl are paranoid or shy. Negatives…

Etc.

I think the other problem is that it gives family members unrealistic expectations of what is possible for their loved ones.

Absolutely. It was a mistake on my part to not only read there, but join in on a crossover thread. It’s one of the big things in my life I truly regret doing.

If I had stayed around though, I’d have met their expectations of a sz patient.

I want to read there out of curiosity but I just can’t be asked

Its triggering, some parents abandoned their sz children.

Dont. It will upset you.

The way I look at it after my own mistakes is that we are protected here on the patients forum, so we should afford the families the same courtesy.

To me this forum is very active. There is almost always some people online 24/7.

That’s a great tool for peer support.

I’m impressed by the number of active participants in this community.
