Fantastic! did you mix ink with water to make lighter tones? I tried that once and my whole picture just looked like a grey blob and I had to use photoshop to increase contrast

Yes it’s really difficult in the beginning to learn the basics. It’s actually watercolour.
To get the lighter tones, I would dilute the paint with more water. The more water I add to the paint, the lighter the tone,

My inspiration was being trapped in a mindset, that you have to look a certain way in order to be loved.

Except that I can’t afford to buy my art stuff until the summer. 
The paints I used for this were provided by the art therapy group…
Anyway… I’ll consider that challenge in the summer!!
Do you have a tablet? Just a phone? You can do pretty good art on a tablet. I watch my daughter doing it all the time.
