Thinking of joining the local bipolar support group?

But I didn’t feel I could relate in all the ones I went to. Is it different for everyone ? Maybe a broader support group mix of different people would be better and more relatable.

Good luck! I don’t like socializing so I don’t go to a support group. This website works for me best.

I was going to a local bipolar support group for a while and couldn’t really relate to the others.

People there weren’t experiencing psychosis and paranoia.

@anon80629714 , @Wave , I went to my local Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance group meeting every week for years and years. They were my lifeline. No they didn’t relate to everything I was going through. But they understood a lot. And most importantly they were listening ears and caring hearts. They held me up and supported me for a long time when I was at my sickest. I’ll be forever grateful to them. And some of them even came to my son’s funeral.

I don’t think they have to understand everything you’re going through in order to give you support. I hope it works out for you

No i understand but when they were talking about their symptoms , as most haven’t experienced a psychosis , it was kinda difficult to relate in order to give helpful advise. But I’m gonna try again.
