Thinking about moving to a different state

I just got back from Stockbridge, MA and it was so beautiful there. All these forests, thick beautiful forests everywhere and hiking trails galore. I come back home to Omaha, NE and it’s so ugly here. There is nothing here. No forests, no ocean, no mountains, no hills, no lakes, nada. Just a lot of highway. And outside of town, a lot of flatland and cornfields. Boring. And it gets so cold and snowy here in the winter. And the winters here last for nine months or more. You’re snowed in all of that time.
And I have no family here in Omaha anymore. Only a sister who hates me and I never see except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Really!! She works constantly. She has no time for me. And she doesn’t want to make the time. I have nothing keeping me here anymore. My pdoc, of 21 years, who I would stay for, just retired, so, he’s not keeping me here either. I do have a piano teacher, who I adore, here. But, he’s nearing retirement too.
I think I’d kind of like to move to Albany NY. Or even New York City. My room mate in Kripalu on my vacation was from N.Y.C. and she was just an office worker so, it can be done. She said that New York City is affordable depending on where you decide to live. I think I prefer Albany to New York City. There’s more nature there.

wow! This is exciting news. Well good luck with the finding and planning and I’ll wish you luck on the packing and moving when the other phase is over. Big news…

Unfortunately, I’m bigger on dreams than I am on actual action. I’ll probably do a lot of thinking about moving without actually doing anything like actual packing and moving. It’s just too big of a headache to pack and move. Especially when I’m relatively happy here. What am I going to do with all my stuff and my furniture, for instance? What can I do with it? Pay to have it moved? That’s a bummer. Of course, I could do that. Arrange an apartment rental ahead of time. That’s possible. Actually it’s an exciting possibility. I’ll think about it.
