Honestly, I need to be seen by a different psychiatrist.
She keeps scheduling my appointments every three to four months.
Last time I was going off the rails with mania and she couldn’t see me earlier or adjust my meds over the phone
She even asked me if I should see someone else.
She made it clear to me on day one that she wants easy mi cases
Honestly she is not equipped to treat complex mood disorders like what I have.
My next appointment with her is in June for crying out loud and I need to see her ASAP
My psychiatrist has an urgent care center connected to the building to keep people out of the psych ward. If you don’t have one maybe look for one. I don’t know if they have them everywhere. I live in the Midwest.
I definitely recommend finding another psychiatrist. I’m super lucky that my psychiatrist left the organization I was assigned to and created her own practice. I followed her to her new practice. Now she answers her own emails in a timely manor, never a middle person. I see her again tomorrow which will be our 3rd visit in 4 weeks because of my manic episode I was having. I’m super reluctant to leave Arizona because then I’d have to stop seeing her
That’s a good question but to be honest I’m kind of nervous leaving my current doctor.
She seems to be a bit above average in terms of medication management
I’ve seen a lot worse
I called her office today and the staff worker said that she may be able to see me soon, before my next appointment
It’s hard to find a good pdoc. I’m sorry you’re going through this when you need help immediately. The pdoc I had before my current one was a mess who asked me every visit- even when I was doing fine- if I was ready to go to the hospital. He’d change my meds every month, too, even when I was doing well on them. He was an in and out in 2 minutes flat kind of doctor. I’m much happier with my current. I hope you can find someone for you, too. Best of luck, @Wave , and stay strong.
