I finally am allowed to switch psychiatrists!

My psychiatrist and I have not been seeing eye to eye for along time. I feel he does not listen to me and does not take my symptoms seriously.
So today, I had my last appointment with him. They will call me back when they get another provider(in house) to accept me!!

How’s the writing going @martinhersey1?

my current pdoc ive had for the last 5 years…he is a complete b~lox…he is very uncaring and provocative…I feel nervous just going to see him…and he leaves me feeling worse after seeing him

I need a pdoc change but don’t know how to do it…im in the public sector so im not allowed to choose a pdoc but I have to put up with whoever I get stuck with

how do I change…please tell us

Thanks all!
@karl, why are you not allowed to pick?? That seems really unfair. Can’t you just ask for a referral?

im in the public sector so there are about 5 pdocs who operate from my local psych hospital…but you are allocated a particular pdoc based on the neighbourhood you are in

@Priscillame
Way to stand up for what is right! I’m sorry you weren’t receiving needed support and help. Hopefully in months to come you will have better care!

Nothing happening there. A false start. Maybe later on this year something will emerge. Thanks for asking!

The right pdoc can really expedite your recovery. I hope the new one’s a good fit.
