I’ve been getting these calls about 3 or 4 times a week. They all say they are selling some “medical alert” system. I’ve been telling them no and they often call while I’m at work and I tell them I can’t talk but they keep talking and I am semi-polite but I get the picture it’s a scam and I tell them no and hang up.
Sometimes at home I pick up the phone and they do their opening speil and I just answer with a no thanks dripping heavily with sarcasm that I know what they’re up to and they prove my point by rudely hanging up confirming my suspecions.
They called yesterday and the guy was pushy and I gave him my best disrepectful “yeah. I’m onto you and you’re a predatory scumbag voice”. And the guy got really pissed and lost his cool and cussed and I just laughed at him. I have zero sympathy for these guys, they know what they are doing and want my money or information so screw 'em.
I get a lot of spam calls as well. I just don’t pick up if I don’t recognize the number and let it go to voicemail. Often they just hang up but sometimes they leave a long-winded message. What’s strange is that the majority of the time the voicemail is in what sounds like Chinese. I don’t even speak Chinese.
We get heaps of scam calls. One of the clever ones is that they say their from the NBN…national broadband network. It’s an automatic reply saying there’s a problem with your service and press an number to talk to a tech. The tech is an Indian, Asia, from a call center. It’s absolutely a scam because the real companies send us letters so just ignore.
Still. You can have some fun. We get one from an Asian call center about the solar rebate scheme. It’s absolute rubbish and not sure it even exists anymore. I usually have some fun. No We don’t have solar power. We have nuclear power. If you don’t have any refined plutonium then I’m not interested…I actually got a call center girl to tell to go F>>> myself. …I love to play with narrow minds.
My mother gets alot of calls on the Landline - saying “her internets been hacked”. She had to ask what the internet was bless her - she doesnt even have a computer lol.
I have to answer all calls cause these places spoof numbers from places I expect calls from. I hate that they do the doctor’s office and both the kids schools, cause I’m gonna answer those of course! I thought there was a law passed, but Verizon isn’t exactly on top of their game.
