With this lack of motivation I’m getting one or two things done a day, but I’m acquiring projects at a faster rate so they’re piling up. I seriously need to get motivated. I’m the type of person that likes things just so. I don’t want things willy nilly. I want it perfect. And it’s far from that.
Since it bothers you to not have it done, I believe you’ll get it all done eventually. Aim to increase the amount you can do over time. And don’t be hard on yourself.
Me too. It feels good when things are just so, but it makes every task seem that much more overwhelming.
I’m not mad, or thinking I’m bad but I’m going to have to be a little hard on myself to get caught up I think. My sister spoke to me about the importance of lists this morning. That’s what prompted me to make a list. I couldn’t believe I had fallen so behind. But now I can strive to get several things done each day and cross them off. Then hopefully once I get caught up I won’t fall behind again.
That’s the perfect attitude Good luck!
It does feel overwhelming. I’m just going to start with the easiest things so I can start crossing stuff off the list.
I crossed 3 really easy things off my list
I’ve gotten 9 things crossed off my list, I’m pooped. I’m taking a break. But yes lists do really help. I’ve even got extra stuff that I found that needed done.
I gotta add some things to my list, deliveries just arrived
okay, unpacked the deliveries, broke down the boxes and cleaned out the pantry of stuff I’m not going to use and sent an email off to a gal I know with a hungry teen who might could use the stuff to see if she wants to come get it. That all wasn’t even on my list.
I’m going to try lists. Thanks.
Oh, break the tasks down into little bits so you can really feel like you are accomplishing something. Don’t just put “clean the kitchen”. Put “sweep the kitchen floor”, “wash the dishes”, “wipe down counters”. You’ll really feel like you’re getting a lot done.
I’m proud of you! That’s all amazing!
I already
organized my underwear drawer
cleaned the kitchen counters
put the clean dishes away
rearranged a shelf in my bedroom and put a new table runner on it
gathered up and moved all the office and craft supplies to the office to get ready to be organized
cleaned the litter box
put away deliveries
unpacked toilet paper and arranged in closet
broke down boxes
rearranged the pantry to make room for the cat food
organized tea in new tea holder
unpacked the last box from when I moved in here (it was my office box and I just got my desk)
Wow, you’ve been busy. I don’t think I’ve had a day like that in years
Your perfectionism might be what’s destroying your motivation. Real accomplishers know they make mistakes and don’t always reach the wanted results.
If this was my list I’d add in some breaks.
I tried. Trying to do things from a list puts me out of commission.
oh no! That’s not good.
yes, I got a bug up my butt. I really got moving. My next thing to tackle is the dishes after my break.
