Now my kitty is all upset and standing at alert, staring at the door. She’s very worried.

Awe…Give her some cuddles @Leaf I’m sure they will settle down. We had two girls and the boys were always around. Charlie was a half outside cat and they’d always be causing drama. Still. I’m so jealous…hope your having a good time with her.

She seems to be settled back down now. That woke her up, she really didn’t like hearing that. I didn’t like hearing that. It sounded like someone was torturing the poor thing. I hope it’s ok.

Yeah It still drives me nuts but cats can be loud and aggressive. They usually use noise to show dominance and hopefully it isn’t fisticuffs…Cats are still part wild animal even the domesticated ones. Keep yours safe and glad she’s settled down.

Could be a pair of cats mating… It’s kinda horrible how it happens with cats. The male grabs the female’s “scruff” of the neck to hold them still, then they mate. But it’s very painful for the female, I won’t say why… And so the female typically screams bloody murder during the act.

does it take many minutes? This went on for awhile. I bet that’s what happened. Poor kitty.

Y’know, I don’t know how long it takes… 
Hopefully, not too long… The kitty should be OK, if that is what happened, though. But the kitty probably didn’t enjoy the experience. Cats have a pretty horrific way of mating.

I think it takes like 10-20 minutes. Have heard it a few times. The sound grabs your attention as much as a babies cry. It really upsets me

Ever heard a fox in heat screaming? Thats bloody haunting - and sounds like a baby crying. They are culling them here - cos the dens are messing up the school playing fields near here.

Yeah I live in the hills and fox cries are arresting. Like you say sound just like a baby crying.
