There was a mouse in my bathroom

So, we have mice living in our attic. We hired an exterminator who set traps and bait. The exterminator told us that the poison would dehydrate the mice who would go searching for water and die. Well, they’ve come into my bathroom looking for water, I guess, and the one in my cupboard this morning hadn’t died yet.
I’m at work now but am obsessing about how many mice might be in my bathroom when I get home. Did this one crawl on my hairbrush and other things. What will I find when I get home? Are they in the rest of the house too? Are there hundreds of them?
I’m having a hard time not “spinning out” on this.

Get something like this to keep them away.

Thank you, @everhopeful! I’ve thought of getting one of those. But I’ve read that they’re inconsistent in efficacy. I also worry that it would bother my cat since his hearing is so good.
I appreciate that, though. Something clean that would keep them away would be great. I’ll read more about those…

I’m not very fearful, but I opened the cupboard when I could hear it, and it was sitting right there! I just closed the cupboard door. If I was more brave I would’ve tried to get it into a plastic bag to throw out, but I just couldn’t do it. I’m hoping this one dies while I’m at work… :flushed:

I hate those things. My Mom’s old boyfriend had one and I could here that thing loud and clear. It was almost impossible for me to get close enough to it to turn it off.

I’ve used them in the past, and never heard a thing. If you can hear them they’re broken obviously.

I think actually I can just hear things that other people can’t.
