I recently have had my second mini stroke. And i’m now going to have to go through another Cat scan. After having argument with my daughter. About me not taking care of my health. I had to come to the conclusion. That a social worker that I had years ago was right. There are 2 types of people in this world. Ones that receive. And ones that give. I have always been a giver in my life. It is very hard for me to accept. Getting things given to me to take care of myself. And that’s what I’ll have to do in order to survive this. Given the circumstances. I am going back and to getting peer support services. I’m not happy about it. In fact, I’m a little bit fearful. I have been treated good and bad. And I sure don’t need the latter part of this. My general question today. Is, are you more of a Receiver Or giver And how would you Handle this?
Take all the help you’re offered DrZen. That’s what I’d do.
I giveth and I receiveth equally.
Blood thinners are the main line of defense here. Yeah, you can do other things that help, but they’re only 2% of the solution vs. 98% from the thinners. Your kid is giving you heck over things you mostly have no control over. Condolences on the mini-strokes as they’re horrible.
Take all the assistance you’re being offered because it’s there for situations like this.
I can honestly say I am both. When I need help, and it’s someone I know can help me without it harming them in some way, I accept the help.
Whenever I can, I help others in any way I’m able.
I’ve always been a big time receiver. But I’m a giver as well. So, both.
