There are no reasons for sz

People say this or that caused it but I think it’s just genetic. I can understand drug induced psychosi, but that’s quite different. What do you think?

I’ve often wondered if I had remained completely sober would I have developed schizophrenia. I can’t know for sure. What I do know is that it runs in my family and that theree is no real reason to dwell on wondering as I cannot go back I in time. I have a feeling it is genetic with factors that can trigger psychosis. From what I have read, many of us had a very stressful time before we were diagnosed. Stress may be as factor as well.

That being said, interesting topic Moonwalker. The reason may just be bad luck. I usess to think my family was cursed. I don’t know.

If there were to be a cure, whatever is the cause will point to that.

I honestly do not think there will be a cure in my lifetime. I’m hoping for better treatment.

The cause of schizophrenia is unknown.

There are risk factors (anything that increases the chance) for developing schizophrenia, and the greatest risk factor is a family history of schizophrenia (genetics). Some scientists believe smoking marijuana before the age of 21 is a risk factor for schizophrenia, but the evidence is conflicting. Furthermore, smoking marijuana and developing schizophrenia is a chicken-and-egg scenario: Which came first? Smoking marijuana or schizophrenia?

I would disregard drug-induced psychosis as a symptom of schizophrenia.

As I keep saying, at some point, you have to stop obsessing over what it was that left you in leg braces and just get on with the business of learning to walk normally again, preferably without the braces.
