Therapist update

My therapist called me today and said she’s quitting. So she’s passing me to a different person.

She said she’s going to a different centre. So she told me that she had to abruptly end the sessions.

Last time something like this happened, the centre left me uncared for, for years.

I hope they’re not avoiding me because I’m a complicated case.

That can be really disheartening @whirling-leaves.

I’m also going through a switch with therapists, as my current one recommended me to a center that already provides therapy (so no outside therapists). I almost feel like she did this on purpose to kinda chuck me, but it is what it is. To note, I’ve been with my current therapist since 2019.

I hope that the center you’re receiving care from will come through for you, and wishing you the best :+1:.

I went to the local community mental health center for therapy there for about 6 years, but the therapists there kept quitting or going elsewhere. I finally had enough when I went thru 5 therapists in 2 years! It took me a bit of looking but I finally found a therapist who has lived here a long time and won’t be quitting any time soon.

We don’t really have therapists on the NHS I think. At least that is my experience.

We have clinical psychologists but they are different.

That sucks. I’m going through the same thing. I haven’t had therapy in a very long time because every time I get assigned a new therapist they quit before the first session. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
