The true friendship between a Chinese and a Londoner

In 1999, Yang Song, a Chinese student, came to London for university education. ON the third day after his arrival, he got lost by taking the wrong bus to return his rented home. Just at this awkward moment Hans, a retired Londoner, spotted this Chinese student and asked him where are you from. After some friendly chatting, Hans invited Yang to his apartment for dinner. They had a wonderful time and left each other very good first impressions. Two days later Yang received a call from Hans inviting Yang to move to Hans’ apartment. Hans offered Yang free accommodation and said “I can look after you and you can look after me, too”. Since then Yang and Hans lived together until 2007 when Yang graduated from his university.

In 2007, Yang returned to China after the graduation and started work in China. He kept in contact with Hans and became very worried when he learnt that Hans was in very bad health. Yang decided to take the responsibility of looking after Hans. He invited Hans to move to China and live in Yang’s apartment. Hans accepted this offer and arrived in China in 2009. In China Yang treated Hans like his grandfather. He cooked for Hans and served meals for him. Yang also took Hans to the hospital to receive a major surgery. In 2014 Hans died in peace in Yang’s home.

Here are some pictures showing the friendship between them.
