I bring the water to a full boil then I add a Tablespoon of baking soda. Then I add my eggs and boil for 12 minutes. Then I let my eggs cool a little. The shell just slides right off. Easy Peezy
Thanks for sharing that @Loke.
That advice would have saved my last batch of hard boiled eggs. They were difficult to peel without destroying the egg.
You’re welcome. It only took me 46 years to figure it out.
Yeah. I’ve been trying to figure the boiled egg thing out for a while now. And I finally found the right recipe
If you don’t have baking soda, I know I run out a it, you can also gently push on the cooked eggs with a potato masher until the shells are cracked a little. The hot water gets inside the shell and makes it easier to remove.
Another option is to remove the eggs from the boiling water and place in ice cold water. This contracts the egg unside and supposed to make the shell remove easy.
I personally use the baking soda method the most.
I make them in my instant pot. The shell is gaurenteed to come off perfectly.
I have found the secret to boiling eggs is to put the eggs in before you turn the stove on. Otherwise they crack.
I will have to try the baking soda.
You seem to know everything about cooking. Props.
@anon4362788 does seem to know cooking!
I only know some things. Mostly stuff that involves budget type cooking or some “make your own” things. Remember, I’ve been cooking for myself since 15 years old and for a household since 16. Now am 47.
Thanks for that
