How well can you crack an egg?

I find cracking an egg is something I might never master. I don’t crack them on the edge of a hard surface. I smack them on the countertop.

I put a teaspoon of baking soda in the water when boiling eggs…makes the shell really easy to come off.

Thanks! I’m going to try that, I love hard boiled eggs and don’t make them because the shell is hard to get off. My method had been to put them in ice water but you have to do that a precise amount of time so it cools and doesn’t freeze.

I perfected that 20+ years ago working in the restaurant business as a cook.

I crack my eggs with one hand, tap it against the edge of a pan then open it and drop it in.

When you’re working food prep and you have to crack open 20-30 eggs a day into a mixing bowl you learn to do it quickly with one hand.

One in each hand simultaneously.

I just use my mouth.

Old proverb. “Go suck eggs.”

Truly words of wisdom for myself.

I am pretty good with my egg cracking skills.

Older eggs crack the easiest.
