The reasons why I switched APs

I was on Haloperidol and I was like someone else described - in a mental cage. It is a heavy drug, but didn’t do much for my symptons and caused me parkinsonism: lack of emotions, tremor, extreme fatigue. I couldnt understand metaphors anymore nor I had any my own thoughts in my head. My psychiatrist said that I would had become a vegetable if not for the med switch. I think typicals don’t belong at this modern era, unless they are a miracle drug for you

I’ve taken typicals and they didn’t all do that to me. For instance I just switched off haloperidol a couple months ago and when I was on it I was able to talk to people and be engaged. It just didn’t work well enough to help me overcome my paranoia enough to get out of the house on my own.

My short experience with Haldol was not a good one. I hope I never have to go back there. I think everyone experience is different though. Invega works for me but it does not work for others.

It gave me parkinsonian gait too do not recommend

Yeah haldol messed me up, I was taking it with perphenazine and had terrible Parkinson symptoms as well as depression.

Your asking about my opinion. I don’t have any opinion about Haldol but I can only talk to you about Clopixol (Zuclopenthixol-Cisordinol) that I’ve been using for 26 yerars.
So my opinion about Clopixol.
It’s the least toxic antipsychotic I’ve been on. No TD and no Weight gain after 26 years of usage.
It comes as a LAI
Clopixol is the best antipsychotics for my positives ( I’m sure I had not been alive today with out this meds)
It’s cheap( but the prize doesn’t matter. The makers of this drug could as matter of fact claim what ever they wanted and I would willingly pay)
So hopefully will the makers of this drug not abandon this drug because that would mean abandoning me.
