You know that feelingâŚthat rushâŚwhen youâre leaning back on a chair and you almost fall down backwardsâŚbut you catch yourself at the last second?
Well instead of just a split second, extend that feeling over hours, daysâŚweeks.
That is how i would describe my schizophrenic psychosis.
Schizophrenia is Mother Earthâs ultimate sucker punch lol. Nice quote tho, itâs good to have a positive outlook.
Schizophrenia seriously impaired my learning abilities.
It also made me a zombie instead of a human.
I donât see how that quote is true lol
Since your illness, have you ever looked at a homeless person and felt sorry for them more than you had before? If so, then the quote is true @aziz
It can be a very humbling affliction.
I always felt sorry the same amount for homeless people but now I canât help them, before sz I could buy them food or giving them money.
And if there wasnât sz there will be less homeless ppl, many schizophrenics end up in the street bcz of their illness.
Vonnegut was sz, himself, according to google.
I agree 100% with that quote.
i agree to a degree how beneficial sz can be. itâs just that no one else sees it the same way.
I totally get the quote.
I experienced Zen-like emotions while Sz psychotic. I really was âat oneâ with everything.
Yea I thought I was Jesus and did miracles, I even collected proofs of my miracles. It was only in my head lol I was crazy to the rest of the world.
Schizophrenia prompted me to get into meditation.
For me it was the opposite, I left everything related to religion and praying after having sz bcz it triggers me and drives me crazy.
I read a book written by Kurt Vonnegutâs son, Mark Vonnegut, in which he writes about his experience with sz. Itâs called âThe Eden Expressâ. Us older guys would probably relate to it better than the younger guys because it describes a lot of what was going on at the time.
Yes. Mark is just a few years younger than myself. I should get his book.
hm, interesting
Weâre all different just like how some meds work for some and donât work for others.
