I started taking NMN daily since February. It made me energetic and alert during the day. But now as NMN accumulates in my body, I started to have insomnia. I have had this issue for more than 3 weeks. I searched on google and found that NMN did cause insomnia to some people. So I am thniking about reducing the dose of NMN.
Take it every other day. How old are you? Is it pill or capsule?
Yes, I’m going to take it every other day. It’s capsule. I’m 55.
Most things are experimental about NMN. We don’t have much info on long term effects.
Some post-menopausal women started having cycles again after taking NMN. David Sinclair mentions in his book.
That’s very interesting. I take some Chinese medicine daily to ease the symptoms of menopause. Pretty effective.
Do you find NMN helping with psychiatric symptoms? I thought about taking it then decided against realizing most people who take it are over 40-50.
I can’t tell it becuse I take 100mg Amisulpride+5mg Olanzapine everyday which effectively suppresses the positive symptoms of Schizophrenia. I have been stable since 2012. Had no relapses during the past ten years. So I can’t figure it out if NMN helps with psychiatric symptoms.
Do you think it helps with negative and cognitive symptoms?
NMN makes me much less tired than used to be. If fatigue counts as one of the negative symptoms, then it really helps.
I heard of similar experiences with “NR”. and NAD+
For some supps, once your body adjusts to the dosages, the (new) effects wear off.
like, if you take b1, b12, whatever, only gonna work if you are deficient in them, to begin with
Sounds like NR is similar to NMN. I’m losing confidence in taking NMN. Just try taking it every other day. And if insomnia persists, I will stop taking it.
i saw a girl on youtube who took NR for 9 months, eventually the “mind-blowing” effects wore off…tons of energy, drive etc
bad enough. I still feel the effect of good energy from NMN after taking it for 3 months, but it makes me too excited to sleep well during the night.
