I think my PRN has stopped working

The only PRN I have is a supplement called beta alanine. It worked great for years to calm me down and chill me out.

Now it seems to have a very weak effect if any.

Maybe I could up the dose?

Sorry to hear that Wave. I have no idea as I don’t use that one.

Detox for a few days or several weeks and then start it again. Most drugs work like that. worth a try anyway…

Not APs though…

I hope you find something that does help you. Maybe you need something beyond a natural supplement right now, and maybe it’s just temporary

Maybe hold on until you get the cdp choline. It could have a calming effect and is ok to use long term.

It took away my constant headache which in itself is a big deal. Able to relax a bit now it seems.

I know people, also normies, who have a very good effect on CBD. I tried it myself but it’s too weak for me.

Have you tried something which might hit the glycine/nmda receptor?

Olanzapine and seroquel are the common APs used PRN because the sedation is calming when you are experiencing exacerbations

@everhopeful Sorry if I’m zombing this thread. I’ve been taking beta alanine as part of my stack. After reading your comment I noticed that if I take my powders (which contains a few things) during the day then it flatlines my mood and even impairs my attention. So I started taking my powders at night. I noticed that they help me sleep much better.

I was wondering if you could point me towards any relevant papers on beta alanine. What is the mechanism by which you feel it had an effect as a PRN? What subjective effects do you feel mentally when taking it? I find really interesting because I’ve never seen anyone
else mention this before. I’m also interested in teasing out what effects it might be having in my stack since I was mainly taking it for its supposed small ergogenic effect

Beta alanine produces carnosine, so I just gave it a try.

Just thinking that because muscle concentrations take time to build up that it is probably the same when supplementing beta alanine for MH. Might be best taken every day instead of as a PRN

Also reading the article it does seem it works by NMDA receptor. Have you tried Glycine, TMG, Sarcosine, NAC, Memantine or even D-alanine, D-serine

They are all options. Considering beta alanine worked as a PRN one of them might be efficacious
