going deep again but I really think the human was the greatest invention ever

Right before World War I Fritz Hauber found a cheap way to derive nitrates. By discovering a cheap way to make ammonium nitrate fertilizer he enabled the earth to support two billion more people. This same discovery enabled the Germans to make cheap explosives and stay in World War I much longer. Mr. Hauber also originated chemical warfare by using different industrial chemicals to attack enemy lines. His wife committed suicide because he was using science to hurt people. Fritz also discovered Zyclon B, the chemical the Nazis used to kill Jews in the concentration camps. He didn’t do that on purpose. He was trying to make an industrial insecticide. What a life.

I’d say it’s a tie between my dishwasher and my washing machine. My Roomba takes a solid second. I love tech that leaves more time for Sharknado marathons.

I think it was in a movie…antiseptic. It made surgery and life without most germs. Germs are a big thing for human survival. That plague really did put stressors on the known world at the time…except not sure it got to Asia but probably did.

Well I’d have to say electricity for a good portion of the planet. But tbf I think the invention of the wheel made the world go round.
