Continuing the discussion from When does God and the devil get off the forum?:

I don’t like the religious posts either. Religion is fine, people’s belief systems are fine but as topics on the forum I think they’re more trouble than they’re worth.

There is a solution, though I’m not sure I should mention it as widespread knowledge of it and organized use of it could cause some havoc.

Edit: That last line sounds a bit ominous so I’ll just come out with it. I’m pretty sure the forum automatically hides posts that get flagged a certain number of times. If a small group of people were to get together and all flag every religious post then those posts would be hidden by the system. It’s not a perfect solution but one to consider.

This is my interpretation of the flagging system. It is to bring to the attention of moderators/admin issues with a thread/post that requires attention for various reasons. Being ‘Off-Topic’, ‘Inappropriate’, ‘Spam’ or requires moderator attention for another reason.

If the thread/post is not going against the community guidelines then flagging for the sole reason that you disagree with the posters opinion, view point or right to post this opinion/view point/topic then it is not in my opinion the correct way to use the system. Please consult the community guidelines if unsure.

Yes a post gets hidden after so many flags… That is until a moderator or admin disagrees with or defers that flag so then the post re-appears and it is discussion as usual.
