The bald man still around

He follows me sometimes.

Was outside of my house when i walked out today.

Creepy ■■■■ man, creepy ■■■■.

I really wish those ghosts didn’t show me that thing that i shouldn’t have seen online that would get me blacklisted. I’ll never be able to tell anyone either, it’s been them this whole time, i’m not even me anymore.

My life is terrifying mate, terrifying.

Has Freddy Krueger shaved his head?

Bet if you look closely you’ll discover a little shiny somethin’ under his coat, pinned to his shirt.
Good Gawd whatever you do, don’t press it.

Hey pans , I thought you were getting better. Are you working now, like a job

I’m bald, so I hope that the he is not me! I am in Japan so I am nowhere near Pans’ house (I presume) but perhaps you are speaking metaphorically.

I am I am sorry your life is terrifying. It seems to me your posts are profound but I will leave off commenting on them for a while.

I am not sure what being “blacklisted” means.

But I am scared the moderators of this forum will eject me soon. I have only just arrived. I hope not. Life is not all that scary, right now, but it is very lonely. I find folks here to believe in things I believe in, but they call them “delusions”! And it is a forum rule not to agree with them. Oh dear.

usually if you want to talk about your delusions

you have to post under Unusual Beliefs

once I posted something historical

and Minni changed That to Unusual Beliefs

idk

Hi Daze

I only want to post to “Unusual Beliefs”

Ideally I would also like a sort of “spoilers” or “triggers” lowlight function. There is or was a forum for writing about movies called “Vine” I think. I think it may have been or still is associated with Rotten Tomatoes movie review aggregation website, where one could encapsulate movie plot spoilers in a [spoilers] tag which would ‘highlight’ (lowlight?) the text in a black highlight/lowlight background such that unless readers selected the text they would not be able to read it.

E.g. taking a very mild example, that I believe pans will have absolutely no problem with, but conceivably someone might,

[triggers] I think that the famous philosopher, Daniel Dennet is right to say, in his often quoted paper, “The Self as Center of Narrative Gravity,” that the self is a theory.[/triggers]

Tim

yeah, can’t be all things to all people

I don’t things intentionally to cause problems

just being myself.

I wanted to ask, have you read the Twilight series, or seen the movies?

Did it bother you when the several men could change into wolves and back?

You can write [.spoiler] without the . and end it with [./spoiler]. Like this. But it’s not OK to try to influence other people to believe your delusional ideas, since this can have very negative effects on them. Using the spoiler function and warning people will not change that.

[quote=“Daze, post:9, topic:72510”]I wanted to ask, have you read the Twilight series, or seen the movies? Did it bother you when the several men could change into wolves and back?[/quote]I have only seen one. It did not bother me. I study the culture of horror and the differences between the West and Japan and Twilight is a very typical Western horror movie.

Thank you. How can people get to read the spoiler? Oh I see. They click on it. This next bit might – though I think it unlikely – be a “trigger.”

If I write about how theoreticians like the famous “New Atheist,” Daniel Dennet claim that the self is “a centre of narrative gravity” and therefore “fictional”, in his word, is that sharing a delusion? That the self is a fiction is something that I first became aware of when I was psychotic. Rather than deny my “psychotic delusions”, I spent the next 30 years or so finding the “science” to explain them. So, I am not sure if sharing such science is sharing science or delusional ideas.
Incidentally, I wrote to Dan Dennet asking “Did you experience the reality of your theory – the irreality of the self – or did you arrive upon your theory in a purely rational deductive manner.” Alas, I received no reply.

We don’t have any clear definition of what constitutes delusional thinking, and I’m not sure if one exists. If you’re wondering whether something is OK to post or not you can always ask us moderators in a PM first.

Sorry, then I am late but, please may I ask, whether the above “spoiler” was okay to post?

It was off topic. Daniel Dennet and I are both bald.

What? You don’t make any sense dude. Or, am I just too stupid?

I’m wondering why that is @timtak? Just a reminder that this is a recovery-oriented forum and we are here to help each other overcome delusions, not to encourage them.

If it wasn’t, I would have removed it. I can’t say that you were encouraging delusional thinking in that post. I think we’ve been as clear as we can about what is OK and what is not in this regard.

Because I have unusual beliefs. And because I am lonely. Until recently I used to wrote it straight on my blog, but then I read a book or two which suggested that one might trigger insanity in others by doing so. I also realized that no one describes reality straight.

And because there are things I would like to ask.

Cutting to the chase, then, I want to ask pans, about why I don’t want to be a straight writing ‘muh fuqa snitch’, or why it is okay to snitch only in riddles.

It seemed to me that my recovery was aided by the fact that I read scholarship that made my delusions/experience sound as realistic as they felt. At the time since I had not read hardly any such material, I felt like an utterly weird nut job, and it was the sense of isolation as much as anything else that was terrifying for me.

@timtak, that’s great that that gave you some comfort. However, shared reality seeking is not the model for this website. In fact, in the past, people using this website for that purpose have done incredible harm to other members here.

I hope this site can help you, but understand that encouraging people in delusional thinking is not permitted. If that’s a problem for you, then this site might not be a good fit for you.

Thank you Rhubot,

I think that all human communication seeks to share reality. But I guess you mean, perhaps that materialist rationalist reality is the type preferred here. Not harming anyone is the main thing, and limiting conversation to a rational materialist world view may be the best way of achieving this paramount aim.

Please may I ask whether the poster, or one of the moderators, removed the kind, sober and supportive post that has disappeared from this thread?

Tim

I like you a lot. Yes keep asking @pansdisease

He needs it
