THC can cause temporary SZ, my friend had it. He thought the FBI is chasing him and poisoning his food. THC made my psychosis worse, more frequent and more violent. I stopped using it 2 years ago and I haven’t relapsed since.
Sadly marijuana is legal here in Quebec Canada. There is a warning on the box saying it might cause or worsen schizophrenia.
Wow didn’t know weed causes social withdrawal, from your article:
“I was surprised that THC induced other psychiatric symptoms, such as social withdrawal, as well as psychotic symptoms"
I think smoking weed could be an issue like for CBT, or Logotherapy. Hallucinating on Marijuanna is like there are delusions, thought distortions, but also lack of insight, or disrupted and broken thinking. In Schizophrenia cases this should seem more Freudian, perhaps, or like you could analyze it with a Meyer Briggs personality test. Incidentally, there could be lack of insight from smoking weed, or heavier hallucinogenics like psilocybin, that resemble that hallucinations could build up as “Ghost in the Shell”, or “Nightmare on Elm Street” or could return when drinking cough syrup. As a Sz it should be frightening that looking at a comic strip in the newspaper is a repressed hallucination, years later, yet persons thinking on world events, or identifying other emotions such as in facial expressions is too insensitive to rationalists, for example, like Freud, or Max Weber. There is indeed cause for concern then regarding Marijuanna, compared with other drugs, perhaps LSD, or others, that the Sz symptoms could ruin something like The White Album by the Beatles, or Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Over all, then, there is some suspicion of Laissez Faire thinking creeping into the Sz symptoms that others tacitly consented to using Marijuanna, such as with L.S.D., perhaps like the hippies. I was most concerned that hippies smoking weed would confuse the effect of a collective unconscious like as “Pink Floyd” music, like acid rock, or heavy metal, with the theory of the collective unconscious as globalization, where the collective unconscious shifts, even for the Sz based on shifts like the new economy, or mass production. Clearly, then, second generation Sz drugs are a shift in the collective unconscious just as manufacturing, or distribution, even without noting the effects of the drug, like when David Eagleman refers to Risperidone, or there is a Seroquel TV advertisement. Still, as when Oliver Sacks refers to L-Dopa in “Hallucinations”, it remains to be witnessed how persons would classify Marijuanna since it is not as effective as L-Dopa, or perhaps Sam-E, like in cases of depression. I am confused about how Marijuanna is good for depression, instead of Sam-E, or Bacopa Monnieri. In fact while healthy persons often tout marijuanna as a milder drug noting it could be legalized, or decriminalized, that I’m pretty sure it is not an antidepressant, and is worse than drinking Green Tea, or L-Theanine. So, as with man’s folly being sort of magnified with a magnifying glass, I should then magnify the folly of marijuanna as a religion, or religious movement for its disastrous impact on the Sz, or depressives. It’s very foolish like a person who is a wino on skid row, to play around with Marijuanna.
