I was terminated from medicaid, I just reapplied and got back on. I’m not sure how it works for Medicare, but I do know that trying to talk to state employees is like pulling teeth. I’ve only had one answer in the two years I’ve been on. They never return phone calls either.
I would reapply, and if it takes a while to get accepted go to emergency, and they SHOULD be able to get her into dialysis treatment. Just dont sign ANYTHING for her. Let her sign everything. If they ask you to sign then you could be billed for everything if her insurance doesn’t come back. They tried to do that with my Grandpa when he was on chemo for cancer. There was an issue with the VA, it got resolved, but my aunt was almost on the hook for the bill if the VA didnt pay up.
The reason I’m asking all these questions is because if she fails on income for A&D then they should automatically try her on the next best program, which is the Medically Needy program and give her a share of cost. It shouldn’t discontinue her right off the bat.
My best advice is to file a hearing, where her benefits will continue while she’s awaiting the hearing. But you have to file the hearing before the discontinuance date for benefits to continue.
