Temporarily going to be off my AP injection, not by choice, worried

So I receive the highest strength Aristada (aripiprazole) shot every two months. I get it free through a patient assistance program, but my PAP expired and I forgot to bring in my 1040 tax document so they could renew it for me.

So Monday instead of getting my shot for which I was scheduled, I’ll have to stop by with my 1040. Idk if I’ll get approved again, though I probably will.

Idk how late I’m going to be on my shot. I’m guessing at least a week or two.

I’m a little worried. I hope that Aristada holds up well. No telling when I’ll get my next dose.

Anyone here ever come off Aristada abruptly like this?

If its only a 1 week wait, i’d say theres a good chance you will be fine. If you have to wait for 2 weeks for your AP, there could be some issues.

I’m no doctor though. I hope you can get it ASAP.

Yeah it just makes me nervous. My psychiatrist is out of the office next week, so I can’t even get a script sent over to the pharmacy for some Abilify tablets to hold me over.

In that case, you could ask your primary Dr to prescribe you a med for 1 week to get you through until you can see your pdoc.

That said, I think you’ll be ok for 1 week. After that might be pushing it. Hopefully it’ll last you long enough though

Walgreens couldn’t get my invega shot for week back in the day. It was rough, but survived. My experience with meds is you can get off them for a short period and they(the meds) will bring you back to feeling better again shortly. If I was you I’d try and get some pills though to hold you off. For me, a week off meds is pretty rough.
