Taking haldol drops side effects

hi, has anyone taken haloperidol and had worsening of mania and confusion among the side effects? Do these effects go away over time if you continue to take them?

Haldol made me more manic and everything worse. No, it never got better, only worse.

hello do you still take it? on the one hand I had had benefits but on the other unsustainable side effects. I stopped taking it but without telling the psychiatry yet because it takes a long time to see her again

Haldol stabilized me.

it went well good for you, I had had some benefits in those few days that I took it but the state of confusion to take one of side effect, it was a really bad experience for me

You claim Haldol made you manic, do you suffer from bipolar?

No, when I am on meds, I am on Risperidone. I was first put on Haldol, but it made things so much worse. I really suggest having you pdoc run a https://genomind.com/ test, it will help you choose an anti-psychotic that runs good with your DNA type.

Usually atypical APs have less side effects than typical APs according to the study… Haldol is typical AP. Unsure if that will reduce side effects. It may vary from person to person. I am thinking of going for Risperdal which may help me better.

I’ve been taking Risperdal for the longest time and in addition the psychiatrist made me take Haldol to make a delusion disappear which apparently doesn’t go away only with Risperdal, I have to talk to the pdoc about it, with Haldol it had gone away and came back as soon as I stopped take it, too bad for the side effects that started after 3/4 days from the beginning of the intake. I hope you can find a solution that makes me feel better without serious side effects.

My delusions went 100% away with Risperidone

I’m not sure it’s delirium but the psychiatrist called it that in the end, I hope it’s delirium to pass because it makes me suffer. but with the haldol it seemed to me that it had passed

Thats no good spare your pain and get off that drug as soon as posible. I made the mistake to keep an antipsychotics that did the things you mentioned and that was 20 years painfull experience.

Don’t tell people to go off a certain med. you are not a doctor.
