Hey. So I was on 10 mg of haloperidol every night. My doctor had my take 2.5 mg in the morning. It’s making me spacey. I feel light headed and zoned out. Will this pass? How long does it take to get used to a medicine dosage? Has anyone experienced this?

It took me 2 months to get used to abilify side effects
Risperdal was the only med I never got used to, Abilify I have no real issues with, never been oh Haldol
Thanks @Mountainman!!!
Thanks @John_Raven!!!
haldol and I didn’t get along at all. I have no issue with ziprexa.
On haldol, I was up all night long pacing the floors. I tolerate Risperdal quite well. It took years to get used to it though.
I was also on 30 mg Diazepam and 20 mg of Procyclidine on Haldol.
Was not an ideal drug for me. Made me really flat, emotionless and a robot. I had movement problems as well.
Good thing about Haldol though is that in some people just 1 or 2mg can be enough as it’s quite potent.
I personally have never tried Haliperidol. My pdoc tends to lean away from the older medication. However, with many drugs there can be transient side effects. These may last a few days or a few weeks. However, i think it is important to be honest with your pdoc and state that you are having side effect straight up. This doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have to change drugs, but they can at least keep an eye on the side effects to see that they do resolve after a period of time. If a fair amount of time has passed and you’re still suffering from them, then at least you’ll know for sure that you need to change medications.
Good thinking @Sezbot241
I take 60mg without any problems
Wow! That’s a high dose!
I’m on haldol. The shot and I never had any side effects.
