Tactile hallucinations

Hello everyone. I am bipolar type 1 with a suspicion of schizoaffective. I have tactile hallucinations I had them my whole life but did not know the term for IT. I thought they were part of my condition . I do take meds seroquel 200 and risperidone. 1mg but they do not seem to work for this symptoms. What can I Tell my doctor. What med could help with these? I have extreme anxiety over IT. Thanks.

Welcome to the community.

It’s early days. Just be honest with your doctor. Your on low doses of both those meds and it takes time…like usually look for effectiveness like a month to six weeks in.

If they aren’t working tell your doc and they can adjust accordingly.

Finding the right meds and med dosages are personal trial and error unfortunately.

That’s quite a potent med. But you’re on a relatively low dose.

The absolute best thing you can do is explain to your psychiatrist that you’re experiencing tactile hallucinations and they’re causing you distress.

Welcome to the forum @ElenoirMiro

I have suffered from tactile hallucinations for as long as I can remember, and I still get them despite being on the highest dosage of Invega.

Remember that meds don’t completely eliminate symptoms, they minimize them.

I suggest receiving some type of therapy alongside the meds to combat your tactile hallucinations.

Hope this helps.
