Tactile Hallucination/delusion with strange insight

Hmm, what exactly is this.

Anybody ever get actually physically touched by something and have their mind change the source.
For example, say I scratched my arm. For some reason, it isn’t registering as me scratching my arm but someone else reaching over an scratching it. But, I’m actually scratching it. But, I’m not.

Does this make any sense?

If I touch my back, I sometimes get the sense that it is a man or person I know doing it.

Anyone know of this?
I is annoying. How can it be stopped?

When I touch my face at night I feel like its actually one of my voices touching me… IDK thought it was a coping mechanism my mind created so I wouldn’t be alone at night… but my face also morphs in the mirror to show his face… So IDK. Use to it and figured it was normal…

I get it like if I hold my shoulder, afterward I will think it was a man holding my shoulder. It is strange isn’t it?

It is but it’s kinda a comfort to me… The lonlier I am the more it happens…as if someone cares enough to hold me even though I dread physical contact…

The sentiment is shared :frowning:
For me it can go both ways. Conforting if I am cold and sad and need contact. Disturbing if it is sudden and unexpected, or painful.

What do u mean painful? Like u feel a physical pain from someone else when it’s u? That would be extremely scary for me… I feel for u…

Sorta…like, I suffer from pain from some physical issues. When I get that pain, it is registered as someone else’s doing. Occasionally, when delusional, I have harmed myself but it was someone else.

I’m a wimp when it comes to physical pain and even more so when someone’s doing it… I have had a certain someone in my head take over before while I’m writing… Drew weird circles and than pointy lines… Can’t stand it when they take over my bodily functions… And it happens alot… A gurgle in my stomach is a message so it’s done on purpose…

I feel you! Ugh, do you ever get a voice that says “STOP” and then you can’t move for a bit. I it is like it hypnotizes.

Nope never had that one… They’ve actually never commanded… Sometimes strongly suggust… I’m lucky in that aspect… But sometimes even going to the bathroom is like a punishment from them… Gotta rid urself of the filth…

They are annoying, intrusive, arrant bastards if I do say so myself.

The only command I’ve ever heard from voices is to drive my knife into my chest, it got so bad after being barraged by voices both inside and out for months on end with little or no sleep that I ended up in the shower with my knife to my chest, not in compliance with their demand as much as in desperation and pleading.

Having been through that I can almost safely say I am absolutely if I can going to live to a ripe old age. I still hear it at times too “Drive a knife into you’re chest, that’s the only way we’ll let you do it” Well, I don’t want to.

I wish they come up with some explanation for this stuff! Like I get the cause but what they say and do is completely random!

I suffer chronic back pain and leg pain, sometimes, I wake up in agony and think someone is torturing me by twisting my leg or punching me in the back…

But as for tactile hallucinations, I sometimes feel like someone is stroking my hair when I get upset, its something my dead GF did a lot when we were in high school, thing is, it feels like she is stroking the long hair I used to have, but I keep my hair short now. Its very weird, I mean it feels like I have fingers running through my long hair, when actually thee is nothing and my hair is short.

Can have tactile hallucinations any where from crawlies, pressure, breathing on skin, heart palpitations, diarrhea, even orgasms.

It is all just technology based sadly thought the local wealthy pervert does use the technology in some locations to attack people who experience an incubus attack and paralysis attacks for years even. Is sad local ‘fetish’. Only solution is moving…Some of the people on here have this story sadly…

Incubus/succubus is old word for these ‘attacks’ even happening in Salem Witch trials. But hear the local mental abuser asking if you want to try something and have this happen, you can decide what you think. Is Casper the Friendly Ghost. You may get more social harassment for doing this, so just get up for 15 minutes and say no thank you if anything bothers you while sleeping. Mental abuse technology is called V2K by govt CIA that supposedly developed untraceable communication technology to communicate with spies, but some reported voices technology was actually developed when govt developed radar in 1940s. Were reports in my state of people hearing it around the military bases in 1940s to early 50s, town DR knew just to tell them to ignore it but many of the adults ended up bonkers. Kids heard it too, but easier to ignore it and kid doesn’t even end up schizo if they didn’t talk aloud to self.

My neighborhood has some houses that play songs or blender running when put away, so ghost thing is just kind of local bad joke. I lived in house where previous occupant went schizo, house played a song for me couple of times and I remembered what it was. House always had a popping sound even when I did not hear the voices, later with the voices the sound was timed with DUH.

I’ve got to say, I’m so relieved to read your post and the replies to it so far. I thought I was the only one. I’ve been having tactile experiences for a little over 7 months now, but I’m not 100% convinced they’re hallucinations. My primary care doctor told me he’s never heard of someone who’s 60 developing Sz- although I was diagnosed as Sz-affective by a psych about 7 years ago.

Over the past 7 months, these experiences have progressed, very slowly. The strange thing is, they only rarely occur anywhere other than my bed- or when I lie down anywhere in my apartment. It started by feeling like someone was massaging my feet. Progressed to feeling like my legs were being moved. Then like entire body is being snugly wrapped in something. Later, I could feel the back of my head and neck being touched, or lines being traced across them. A couple of months into this, it felt like something was inserted into my rectum and something was stimulating my ■■■■■. It resulted in an intense orgasmic feeling, that had me shuddering. This happened a few tImes. Throughout these experiences, I can feel and hear tapping on my mattress, and pressure on the mattress like someone is sitting on it or getting up. Most recently, I’ve felt like my lower back was being pushed, and there have been visual things (which also seem to be progressing).

At first it looked like there was vapor in my room, some of which passed out my shut window into the back yard. Over time I began to see flashes of red or blue light in the vapor, until now the vapor itself looks bluish or reddish. Then I started seeing shapes in the vapor- including the transparent shape of men walking toward my bed and away from it. These shapes reach out and touch me or tap on the bed.

Ever since this started, when my legs feel like they were being moved, the muscles in my legs physically quiver, and there’s a “stimulated” feeling like a very low current. More recently this feeling has moved up my body. One time I saw one of the “phantoms” pointing something at my body and a vapor sprayed out of it. As the vapor covered me, I got that strange “stimulated” feeling.

Sometimes that feeling borders on euphoria.

Strangely enough, I can usually relax and go to sleep with all of this going on. I think that’s because it has all come on so gradually, because I don’t feel threatened (maybe I should?), and my faith in God is usually pretty strong.

The other night I was lying there with my eyes closed. I opened them and (instead of blue or red vapor) saw a small black rectangular box sitting on my arm. I watched move just an inch or two up my arm and then it retreated away off the edge of the bed and disappeared like it was vapor too. But it had looked quite solid. Two nights ago, a similar thing happened, however, when the box retreated, I could see it was actually the end of a long, black, narrow tube that had extended itself across my bed to rest on my arm. Last night, there was nothing like that, however there was a black “heap” a little higher than my mattress, at the foot of my bed. I found this a little unsettling, but I managed to stay calm by praying. Out of the corner of my eye it looked like a moving figure of light was almost behind me, and some kind of dark wisps of something kept flickering in front of my face. It felt like liquid was running through my scalp toward my face. And threads were spidering their way up my chest onto my neck.

A couple of other things I’ve noticed. These things normally only occur if I’m in the bed, lying on my right side. If I sit up, roll over, sneeze, cough, or simply move, they stop. On several occasions, however, I’ve noticed that if I do simply change positions, I get these annoying, but not painful “pokes” as if something is trying to coax me back into position, and these pokes can go on for a long time. There have been a couple of times when I finally just fell asleep in spite of them.

In addition to the vapor and the figures in the vapor, I’ve seen faces, lights and swirling bell-shaped things outside my window. In addition to red and blue, these objects/lights have brown, purple, yellow and green colors. I’ve also seen the vapor swooshing in streams around my room, what looks like little vortexes swirling around my room, and I’ve felt these- like breezes on my face.

My psych has tried tweaking my medication over the past 7 months, to no avail. No matter what he adds to or subtracts from my regimen, these experiences continue to progress, another reason I’m not convinced they’re hallucinations.

There are a lot of other details I could share, but I’ve already written too much. I just wanted to share my experience. I wanted to see if anyone thinks it’s time to put on my straitjacket. I wanted to see if anyone thinks, like me, that some part of these experiences is rooted in reality. And I wanted to confirm what everyone else here is saying. If these are hallucinations, then tactile hallucinations are a real thing. Neither my psych nor my primary care doctor had ever heard of them. If you’ve read this far, I’d love some feedback.

I have experienced many of the things you mentioned with tactile hallucinations. Mine are often accompanied with voices instead of visuals, but I do get some visuals. Most of mine are scary but some are euphoric. I have felt the feeling of being hugged softly before by something. It is a feeling so wonderful that I never want it to end.

I think that it is just how our bodies perceive stimulus. That part of the brain may direct one feeling to another. My brain makes things up the only way it knows how. Perhaps the mind is turning typical occurrences into other situations. In the end…these are generally seen as delusions or hallucinations.

Sz/a in my opinion is a sensory disorder where things are heard, seen, felt, smelt, tasted, and overall perceived differently than other people.

Have the voices made you feel orgasmic feelings in you body or like they are moving energy around in your body. Also have they told you that you where jesus or the one

Wow. I got notice of your comment & re-read everything I wrote over 3 years ago. It’s still going on, every single time I lie down, regardless of where I am. But to answer your questions—. No voices. Never have heard voices, and certainly nothing indicating that i’m Jesus or “the one.” I’m still just plain, old ordinary me! LOL. As to feelings of euphoria or orgasmic-type feelings in my body. Yes, those happen with some regularity. Not every single time, but many times, yes.
