I’m stable today, thanking my med for that, since I took my injection yesterday.
Like I said, my pdoc is finally (after two years of this) considering the sza dx, that which I’ve accepted for a long time. I thought he did too, but you know dx = treatment. As long as my dx is paranoid sz I only get an AP.
He’s young, I’m positive he doesn’t want to risk giving me extra medication, but I’m going to my first pdoc now, the one that took my case after my hospitalization, and she will probably add something
My pdoc is considering adding Lithium but wants to make sure I start to change medications first so side effects don’t overlap.
It’s hellish! Not psychosis out of my mind seeing demons hell, more really like a really bad pain in the neck. Ugh. Just venting here.
Carry on, thanks for reading my mini vent.

Struggles of life. Finally we know but unable to set free ourselves.
I respect dx = treatment but I suppose a few dx overlap as do the treatments of them. I do get your moods have been distressing you - must be horrible.
Have you tried any mood stabilisers? Usually they don’t start with lithium as it can be nephrotoxic. There are a range of anticonvulsants they can use to get similar results.
When I had the sza dx I found I was on loads of tablets that is a drawback. But relief is worth it.

I haven’t tried any sort of mood stabilizer.
Well lithium is the big guns of mood stabilisers. They usually try something like lamotrigine or sodium valproate first.
More recently APs such as quetiapine get used in lower doses to smooth out mood.
There are lots of options.

Yes, my ap is good for moods. He explained that to me. But it isn’t doing the trick on the end of the month. We tried me taking the injection every three weeks to see if it helps.
The lithium would be last resort, and dx change.
