Switching to Latuda. Wish me luck

So I talked with my pdoc and he already wanted me off geodon. I’m switching to Latuda and I will be cross tapering over the next few weeks. I am totally nervous that I will have a relapse but I cant take the side effects from geodon anymore. I guess we’ll see how it goes.

I hope it works for you. I’m back on latuda after clozaril. It’s not a bad medicine. Think positive.

Thanks roxanna I’m really trying to stay positive. I just can’t afford another episode. I guess no one really can though.

Yeah. I try not to worry. You’ve been through a lot. I suppose we’re all family here. I don’t feel good atm.

Honestly, Latuda should be just below Clozapine in effectiveness IMO

I hope it works out for you!

Geodon didn’t work out for me either. Hopefully you start feeling better as the cross titration starts reducing the levels of Geodon in your system. I hope Latuda is your miracle drug!

I am currently on latuda and am stable and doing well.
I had severe jaw clenching for a while and benzotrap and antanex did not help but it just went away by itself when my body was used to it perhaps.

I take Geodon and Latuda. I added Latuda a few years ago. It’s good for negatives but I put on 50 pounds with it. I stayed skinny on only Geodon despite the fact I can’t do cardio anymore. If I try to run my heart rate goes through the roof. Maybe you won’t have that with just Latuda though.

Be careful going off Geodon though. It’s rough. Big withdrawals along with symptoms. Hopefully you are gradually decreasing it.

I’m already getting withdrawals. It’s going to be rough for a bit definitely

I’m on latuda and it’s awesome. Really helped with my positive symptoms. I have gained quite a bit of weight, though, and it kinda sucks. But I think it’s worth not being paranoid 24/7

I forgot to mention in your last thread but besides having little side effects for me, Latuda seems to have antidepressant properties. I’m cheerful and in a sunny mood 90% of the time on it and that might be why…

I hope it works. My dr wants me to try Latuda but I can’t afford it.

My doctor is giving me sample packs. I’m unsure if my insurance will cover it

You can call the number on your card and ask if it’s covered and what your copay would be.

Good luck
I’ve switched meds and as long as it’s done carefully usually it goes smoothly
