I can’t stop vomiting. My doctor didn’t warn me about this. I have never felt this sick in my life. I am meeting with a case worker on Monday so hopefully I will have someone to check up on me soon. I’m falling behind on my schoolwork. I feel really disabled right now
Are you replacing the Geodon with something else, or are you coming off meds entirely. I moved from Geodon to Abilify, but my pdoc cross-titrated them so I wouldn’t have terrible withdrawals.
I hope you feel better soon. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
Don’t hesitate to call your doctor if things get worse for you.
I’m cross-tapering to Latuda. Hopefully this one works without making me sick. and thanks. yeah, its tough
I hope the Latuda is your miracle med! It must be hard to keep it down right now though. As Wave said, don’t be shy about calling the doctor if you need to. He will probably want to know you’re experiencing this, and he may be able to offer you some guidance.
Thanks @anon39736208. You guys are really nice.
If you call your doctor they will probably give you a nausea med like phenergan or ondasterone. That’s good your switching meds, good luck on the next go! I used to switch meds all the time and once I had a new med in my system my thoughts became clear shortly after.
Yah I’m really hoping this one works out.
Just don’t take it on a empty stomach. I was told that but my insurance never covered it so I didn’t get a chance to take it.
Yah I’m used to taking meds with food from the geodon. I just take it with dinner and go to bed pretty early.
Oh ok, hope you can get school work accomplished, maybe tomorrow will be a better day. Did the say you were getting neuroleptic malignant syndrome from the geodon?
They never really told me what was happening with the geodon. They just saw it was making me severely ill and are taking me off. It sucks because otherwise it was such a great med. I wonder if that is what is happening as I have been running a fever pretty often. I honestly think I was getting interdose withdrawal on the geodon, and my body just couldn’t take it.
I’ve been on risperdal and onto haldol and my withdrawals consisted of me losing tons of weight and all my teeth to hurt. Psych meds are weird. It’s tough
Yah my weight is shooting down pretty quickly. I feel it will probably go back up once I have more latuda in my system. I don’t ever really know whats causing what, I’m on so many meds, but yeah hopefully this switch will do the trick.
I’m rooting for latuda
When latuda starts working, your withdrawal should go away
I had Geodon withdrawal while starting vraylar, but it went away when I got to the therapeutic dose.
I believe its because of dopamine.
How did you like vraylar? Thats another med my doctor brought up and is my next choice if latuda doesn’t work out.
It’s a very good med, but hard to get on.
You’ll probably need something to put you to sleep till you get used to it.
I had insomnia for the first couple of weeks.
It is pretty activating for about a month, then it becomes calming.
It took care of all my positive symptoms and helped with anger and impulsivity.
I was on 3mg for several months, then I started having real bad depression with suicidal thoughts.
My doc raised my dose to 4.5mg and in about three days the thoughts were gone.
Overall I really liked it, but it did have some side effects like never feeling full, and dizziness upon standing up.
I opted to try rexulti after vraylar and I like it much better.
