Would like to know your experiences. Can I continue with low dose risperidone while I am switching to Geodon ? I would like to taper risperidone for about 1 month . Let me know if both medication will cause any problem if taken together ?
These are questions for your psychiatrist i think. Normally they cross taper though. I.e. lower one ap and increase the other gradually.
What dose of risperidone are you on now?
All questions for your pdoc. I take Geodon and I like it. Minimal side effects that is.
@anon47167357 I am talking 3 mg /day. would like to reduce it by half for next 1 month and then 2nd month remaining half .

@Hanna_Foxx .Do you have any sleep problems with it ? what dose are you taking ? Any weight gain issues ?
So I took Geodon back in 2018 for about 6 months. I had sleeping problems since before starting on it so I don’t know if I’m a good one to say whether is caused the sleeping problems or not. I didn’t experience weight gain on it though. At the time I was taking 80mg twice a day. Now fast forward to present time I only went back on it about a week ago and now I’m on 40mg twice a day. Trying to keep the dose lower to reduce possibly sedating side effects. I’ve been having big problems sleeping but I’m also not taking any Trazodone like I used to.
I switched from risperdone to geodon.
I took geodon for 2 years but ended up switching again to abilify
I had the sleep issues as well on geodon. That is why I’m now on abilify.
