It will most likely be incremental increases for most and won’t be a game changer for a whiles yet. That is just from how it’s always been. I hope I’m wrong.

Geodon and Seroquel work well for me, but it seems like they have had enough time to go generic and reduce their prices. I don’t know why the cost of those drugs hasn’t come down, but they’re still expensive as hell. I think they make allowances for destitute people, though. We can get our med’s more cheaply than people with money can.

I tried out Vraylar (Cariprazine) soon after it was available here. But it was not a good med for me.

Now I am on Clozapine

It took years for the doctors to convince me to use that AP

The only reason I agreed to it was because my freedom was at stake

Even though I had to go up to initial dose at hospital, I did not want to lose privileges like going out for cigarettes

I will have to look for benefits from feedback. The problem with medicines is one which works for a person might not work for another. I will take what works best for me.

Wait for the nhs to licence them. Particularly ultaront

Well if it just make my weight gain drop to near 0 and doesn’t affect my sex drive as much I will be more than happy to buy them

You are located in the usa right? Karxt will be soon available, save up for it it you can, it targets muscarinic receptors the same as clozapine, very high effect size too

Not USA, UK!

We don’t get the newer meds very easily, as the state foots most of the bill for the fancy branded meds

How about trying polypharmacy? Look into the receptors targeted by different ap and their mode of mechanism then taking a bit of each so you end up with same effect as clozapine but more differentiated side effect profile

Off my head I can think of abilify to target d2 as partial agonist, a bit of clozapine for ht2a and muscarinic

The doctor and pharmacist told me not to give up hope, as they will try combinations next

Yea that’s good if you had access to karxt and lumateperone I would suggest trying to ask for karxt, lumateperone, abilify, pimaversarin and a bit of clozapine

All these target different receptors

I talked to my psychiatrist about the new meds in the pipe and she said the data from clinical trials was disappointing, she is a professor at the Penn State Hershey medical school, she knows what she is talking about. I haven’t given up on them yet, I will probably try them when they come on the market. Apparenty they are still planning on selling them despite them not being very effective.

I depend on what is freely available in the public health system.

Depends. My medicines are working well for now. I wouldn’t change them for the lifetime, if that’s possible. Bad side effect is weight increase, but I can cope.

I will keep on taking my meds.

Which meds are you talking about? From what I know, ulotaront is about as effective as abilify, karxt to risperidone, caplyta isn’t that effective

I’m gonna try Ulotaront or karXT (are there any others?). I want to read reviews first though.
