Are you going to try the novel new antipsychotics coming out?

  • Yes, I will try them immediately after they are released.
  • Maybe I will try them, but I want to wait to read reviews etc. See how people respond to them.
  • No, I’m good on the AP I’m currently on, I’m too scared to make changes.
  • No, I’m good on the AP I’m currently on, it works well for me.

Here Vraylar is really expensive even i get some discount from the state.

And yes, i’m ready to try new AP’s if they target depressive symptoms and or negative symptoms

I don’t know anything about these new ap
I’m in the uk
I wonder how many are coming out
I’m not sure my psychiatrist would think it a good idea to come off my clozapine but I’m not doing well on the clozapine I don’t know if it’s dose related. They can’t increase my clozapine dose because of side effects such as risk of fits and I’m not sure a higher dose would make me better

Cant really demand the new meds over here, they probably not NHS approved - and i have to jump thru hoops with the shrink, just to get med adjustments lol.

I am deathly afraid :skull_and_crossbones: of switching to a different AP.
Last time I switched to Vraylar and I lost my mind completely!

Got involuntarily committed to a psych hospital twice for 5 weeks!

When they make clozapine without weight gain it’s ok…

My pdoc wants me to take Caplyta, but it’s too expensive for me to afford. I’m just going to stick with Abilify right now.

I’d be happy to try them when they’re no longer expensive

It’s covered by both of our plans. I have a bottle in the cupboard as Plan B.

no, it wont work

You are fortunate to have access to these medications and emerging therapies. It is going to take another 5-10 years after being released in the US to be available where I live.

Tried Vraylar and had no side effects (unlike abilify which gave me akathisia).

Are you still on it?

I would concider trying a new med if it didn’t havd weight gain n anxiety n insomnia as side effects of other bad side effects.

Same here I am planning to check with psychiatrist to see if I can import it, I can’t stand being this fat and unhealthy

No I’m not on any meds currently. But if I had to go back on meds I’d probably do Vraylar. Only problem is that it’s pretty expensive so it might be a bit of a struggle with insurance (not a big issue with the insurance I was on at the time though).

By new meds i assume you mean things like karxt ulotaront and emraclidine. Personally i think the current medications suck and i would like to try the new ones. I cant imagine these new drugs being any worse then what we have out now so yeah i would like to try them out.

Atypical antipsychotics (meds from the 90 and forth) don’t work for me or
Cause severe side effects. So I’m on a neuroleptics from the 80’s called Clopixol that works like a charm without causing any severe side effects.
My current meds is
Clopixol depot 400 mg every other week.
2 pills of bipertine for side effects.
I’m a child of the 80’s.
