Thanks. How long did “miserable” last? Before getting better?
It was born out of necessity, can’t really afford to slowly withdraw. Kid and I had a trip to Antwerp. We had dinner in a Michelin guide restaurant. Trialed fancy chocolate. And kid sought out his first real parfume in a specialized niche shop.
Since that does not exactly…fit our normal standard of living…these last two weeks of the month I’m eating rice (kid does have bread and veggies & fruit, no worries).
Not sure this was the best planning ever. But we’re tackling my sugar and grain addiction ánd Lent in the process.
I was kind of hoping to not spiral into depression though.
I can remember spending about 1 week eating absoloutely no sugar and in the end I couldn’t do it. So yeah I don’t know how long they last, but I know it was unfun enough to make me stop trying
Good luck
I did it before though, and can’t remember it being this bad. I decided kid wouldnt miss one apple. And added a bit of fruit to my diet. And I have some honey here. Might help.
Oh well…no right to complain…it was my own calculated choice to do a very few real fancy things in Antwerp…and be punished for it after. It’s just kind of interesting what my body does with this change of diet.
@anon21280033 Yeah getting sugar from fruit can be a really good idea, it’s not nearly as harmful as straight fructose corn syrup, like the crap in sodas. Plus all the carbonation, they straight make those to kill people lol
